Art and Design Accrediting Agency

The National Association of Schools of Art and Design is the only national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education for determining the educational quality and performance of colleges and universities in art and design programs. This agency has the Department of Education’s seal of approval for approving accreditation throughout the United States for academic institutions that offer both college degree and non-degree programs in art, design and all relevant art and design-related courses. One caveat of Title IV programs in art and design is that the educational institution must be considered “freestanding schools or colleges of art and design” to be eligible to participate in Title IV programs. The National Association of Schools of Art and Design is located in Northern Virginia in scenic Reston.
