Avoid Bogus Degrees

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Department of Education, and the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) have all issued warnings to college students and professionals seeking to further their educations and professional standing by pursuing online degree programs to beware of fraudulent organizations commonly known as diploma mills. Diploma mills are essentially companies that just sell degrees and certifications to individuals without actually requiring them to take the required number of courses or receiving the requisite number of credits for the degree or certificate they are seeking. Diploma mills usually market themselves through newspaper ads, direct mail campaigns and over the internet.
