Diploma Mills
Diploma mills are basically concerned with making a profit from unsuspecting individuals that may not know how to determine the legitimacy of the claims of the diploma mills. Diploma mills rely on their low advertised rates or the promise of awarding degrees in a minimum amount of time. Diploma mills sometimes claim to offer degrees or credit toward a degree based on an a persons life experiences and work experiences as a substitute to having actually attended some formal college education. Some diploma mills even claim to be accredited academic institutions. Unfortunately part of the problem with diploma mills is that they seem real and it can be difficult for average consumers to tell if an organization is a diploma mill or not.
