Getting your AAS in Child Development
The Associates Degree Program in Child Development is a career oriented program of study that allows students after graduation to enter a variety of positions in the fields of child care, early childhood education, special education, child and family social services and/or counseling as well as allows the students to pursue higher coursework in the field of child development.
The AAS in Child Development is based on theoretical and experimental knowledge in child development. The associates degree program familiarizes the student with child development principles for pre-schoolers. The program provides field experience through exercises and performing reports with children.
The college program gives the student competence in their teaching methods of children as well as allows the students to meet their state’s requirements. Among positions you are qualified for after graduation include work as education assistants and as teachers aides in schools, child care centers and similar institutions.
