Getting your Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certification
In order to establish yourself as someone with relevant and updated skills in dealing with wide-scale networks that include up to 100 to 500 nodes or more, you need to pass the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification. This is also necessary for those who are working with broadband and VPNs.
Before you can be eligible for the CCNP exams, you need to obtain a CCNA certification first of all. Afterwards, in order to complete your CCNP certification, you would have to complete and pass a total of three to four tests.
The four tests mainly deal with routing, switching, WAN or Wide Area Networks, and in utilizing QoS for IP Telephony. For the certificate holder to retain his or her Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) a 642 professional test must be passed before the expiration of the CCNP certification, or in lieu of it, a CCIE or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert exam, usually a written-test type.
