Sustainability Degrees Are a Growing Trend Among College Students
As our environment continues to be a concern for the world, sustainability degrees are a growing trend among college students these days. “Green Collar” jobs are becoming increasingly popular and many accredited colleges and universities are broadening their degree offerings accordingly including offering MBAs in sustainable business practices as well as technical training.
Arizona State University’s School of Sustainability graduated its first class this past spring. There were 300 students enrolled in the first year at the school. Students at the University of Pennsylvania can now earn an MBA in environmental studies. At Harvard, the Graduate School of Design now allows its architectural students to study sustainable design due to the increasing demand for energy efficient homes and businesses.
Other green universities include the University of Michigan, Stanford University, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, John Hopkins, Geogia Institute of Technology, University of Texas at Austin, Cornell and Carnegie Mellon University.
