Texas A&M University offers to pay freshmen tuition

Just recently, Texas A& M University offered to pay freshmen tuition as well as other fees to incoming first-year students under specific conditions, for example, the student must maintain a 2.5 grade-point average.

Eligible students must come from a family that has an annual income of $30,000 or less. If these conditions are met, any first-year student at Texas A&M University will have a fully paid with tuition and other fees by the school.

This decision is being made in order to address the need of students to have access to affordable education, at least for students in the state of Texas.

According to the vice chancellor of academic affairs, Frank Ashley, the funds for the program will be sourced from various financial aid channels. Other colleges and universities should consider following Texas A&M University’s lead to help make a college education possible for students with limited financial resources.
