The Prominence of Ivy League Universities
The Ivy League Universities in Northeastern United States are composed of eight academically outstanding and elite universities.
The following are the Ivy League universities in the US:
Brown University
Columbia University
Cornell University
Dartmouth College
Harvard University
University of Pennsylvania
Princeton University
Yale University.
These universities were founded during the colonial period of America, with exception to Cornell University which was established later in 1865.
The Ivy League term is used to refer to all of the eight institutions as a group. Nowadays, this term is used to denote the oldest surviving universities in the entire United States. These schools maintain high standards and are known to accept only highly qualified applicants.
Students who are considering on attending any of these Ivy League schools must have had excellent grades and outstanding over-all scholastic performance. Ivy League universities are widely accepted to be top standard and world-competitive schools that produce notable graduates year after year.
