USNWR Rankings
The U.S. News & World Report is a popular resource for students, parents, researchers and administrators to see which colleges and universities ranked the highest across the nation. The colleges and universities are grouped with other institutions with similar profiles based on the categories developed by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching in 2000.
There are the 248 colleges and universities (162 public and 86 private) in what is known as the National Universities group. All these 248 academic institutions provide a wide array of accredited classes including both undergraduate majors as well as master’s and doctoral degrees; many strongly emphasize research.
